Since 1 January 2025, electronic invoicing (e-invoicing) has been partially mandatory in the B2B sector. Companies must be able to issue and receive e-invoices. One form of e-invoice is the so-called XRechnung. In the B2G sector, only the XRechnung will be recognised as a valid e-invoice in future. It is already mandatory in some federal states. From 2027\/2028, only e-invoices are to be sent, in line with the federal government’s plans. Paper invoices and traditional PDFs will be a thing of the past by then at the latest. <\/p>\n
